1. Does J.W. Cole register with any regulatory body?
Because of the size of assets under management, J.W. Cole Financial/ Jonathan Roberts Advisory Group is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and with the Financial Industry Regulatory Association (FINRA). Firms that manage less than $25 million in assets are required to register with their state securities department.
2. What differentiates a registered representative from an investment advisor?
A registered representative is employed by a brokerage or a broker-dealer that is licensed by the Security and Exchange Commission and acts as a steward for their clients that are trading investment products such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds. A registered investment advisor is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and manages the investments of others. The advisor is the person in the company that is responsible for providing advice and making investments on behalf their investors.
3. How are we compensated?
We are compensated through a combination of fees and commissions that are designed to closely align our interests with those of our clients. Fees are charged on a quarterly basis.
